Kerre Nitz, LPC
Kerre is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 6 years of experience. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling along with a certificate in Trauma Studies from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She also holds a Master’s of Divinity degree from Regent University. She has worked in various settings including the school system, inpatient psychiatric centers (adult, geriatric and children/adolescents) and the ER and hospital setting. She specializes in depression, self-esteem, body image, grief & loss, anxiety, eating disorders, anger, stress management and spiritual trauma. The foundation of her treatment approach is a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients through unconditional positive regard, trust and creating a safe space for clients. She utilizes resources from CBT, DBT, reality therapy, mindfulness and motivational interviewing. As a therapist at Great Lakes Bay Health Center her mission is to validate her clients’ strengths, abilities and call out their purpose to help them achieve a strong and confident identity of self. Working at GLBHC gives her a platform to help clients reach their treatment goals, heal from trauma and become the “best” version of themselves. Kerre is passionate about being out in nature, hiking, kayaking and exploring MI and natural parks regardless of the season. She can be found at her family cabin, on a local rail trail with her dog or at the beach on one of the Great Lakes. She also enjoys weightlifting, cross training, run/walking, playing guitar while singing at her church and spending time with family, friends and her dog.
