Jakie Conachan, PMHNP-BC

Jakie, PMHNP, has been a clinician in the nursing field since 2002. She worked as a Labor and Delivery RN for nearly 18 years, meanwhile obtaining her Masters of Nursing degree in 2019, with a specialization in Psychiatry/Mental Health. She joined the Great Lakes Bay Health Centers team as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in 2021, and has a special interest in women’s mental health, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Prior to being employed at GLBHC, Jakie worked for a psychiatric Consult and Liaison practice in an inpatient setting. She truly enjoys working for GLBHC, and would entrust any clinician here, to care for her family members. Jakie chose the area of Psychiatry as a way to give back to the underserved community, as there is such a great need at this time. She is passionate about serving this population, and has a goal of improving the well-being of every patient she encounters.

Jakie enjoys spending time with her family, which now includes her first grandchild! Hobbies also include kayaking, biking, walking, attending concerts and Broadway shows and traveling as much as possible. Jakie believes self-care is the greatest way of which we can be the best version of ourselves, and she accomplishes this by reading books offering self-fulfillment, with her favorite author being Brene’ Brown. “Because our true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance”. —Brene’ Brown
