    COVID-19 Testing Update

    To our community members – Beginning Tuesday, March 24, Great Lakes Bay Health Centers are offering COVID-19 sample collection for testing to people living in our community. We have set up a testing center in the parking lot at our David R. Gamez community health center located at 501 Lapeer Ave. in Saginaw. This is a drive-through testing site. Tests are limited and will be offered to people with the following requirements.

    The requirements for people to receive the Covid-19 testing is as follows:
    You must have the following with you to get tested – Current requirements for COVID-19 (Coronavirus) testing at this site:
    • Must have a paper lab order from your doctor or health care provider for “COVID -19 testing.
    • The lab order must have the doctor/providers Quest Account Number on it (the test CANNOT be performed without this because Quest Labs uses this number to contact your doctor/provider with results.
    • You should have a sheet/paper from your doctor that contains your name, date of birth, address, phone number, insurance name and number. If this sheet was not given to you, the information can be filled out on the lab slip. A staff member can help you with this part at the check point if you need assistance.
    We will be testing Monday – Friday from 9am – 3pm, or until testing supplies run out each day.

    Due to the coronavirus, Medical hours at our locations have changed. Please check the Locations page for current hours of all services. You will be screened for symptoms before entering any site. Medical sites are open 8 am-5 pm. Janes Street center will have Saturday hours 10 am-4 pm, including Pharmacy. Departments and services that are temporarily closed are: Vision-Eye Care, Physical Therapy, School-Based Health Centers, Integrated Care Saginaw, Alternative Pain Management, Annual Physicals, X-Ray, Mammography Services, Ultrasound except OB & Emergencies, Well-Child Over 4 (provider discretion).

    To slow the spread of COVID-19 in Michigan, following are some of the strategies being recommended.
    Information about this outbreak is changing rapidly. Please make sure you call into your provider’s office before stopping into a location.
